Nepalese food is not as well known those of its near neighbours in India and China, but they can punch well above their weight in the culinary stakes. They take influences from their southern neighbours – curries and tandoori dishes, for example – and their cousins to the North – momo dumplings wouldn’t look out of place on a dim sum platter – while also maintaining an authentic Nepalese flavour. One can find Chilli Everest Authentic Nepalese, a restaurant that brings Nepalese cuisine to the streets of Melbourne.

The hungry dining punters of Melbourne love spicy food, and curries are always among their favorite things to see on a menu. While they would more commonly associate curries with the Indian and Thai cuisine, there is an increasing number of Nepalese restaurants springing up around town, and in the city center, Chilli Everest Authentic Nepalese is the go-to destination located at Ground Floor/211 La Trobe St, Melbourne. My partner and I ate here last night. We had steamed momos, chow mien, chilli chicken n I forget the other thing. It was great. Spicy but good. The staff were very nice. Will definitely go back. Yum!
